• IWF Mom- Week One Update

    I survived my first week as an Improvement Warrior! Here’s a little recap:

    On Monday evening, I was apprehensive but also very excited just to be making the tangible step toward my weight and fitness goals. It was a new location and trainer than I had known in my past boot camp experiences,
    Plank kickback-- core strength group fitness so I felt like a true beginner. I’m not going to lie- the workout was hard for me. I was feeling close to my limit by the end of the warm-up! And toward the end of the F.L.O., I felt like I might throw up. I went home thinking, I’m not sure if I can do this. Maybe I’ve gotten too old. But my husband encouraged me not to give in to that thinking just yet, and he was right.
    My soreness started setting in on Tuesday afternoon, and by Wednesday evening, when it was time to go back, I was wondering how I was going to make it through another F.L.O. when it hurt just to walk up the stairs! However, after the warm-up, my soreness wasn’t an issue, and I had a great workout. I’m not saying it wasn’t difficult or that I wasn’t ready for it to be over by the end, but it just felt awesome. It reminded me why I used to love doing this- the “high” that a good workout can leave you with, and the sense of accomplishment.
    Thursday was a very long day. Between potty-training my three-year-old and dealing with multiple issues in our “new” old house (leaky sink, overflowing dishwasher, etc.), the last thing I really wanted to do was go work out. However, I didn’t give myself a choice. I went, I did it, and of course, I was so glad I did. I think that making the F.L.O.s a part of my weekly routine will be key. As a working mom, there will be times I literally can’t make it- so, I can’t skip just because I’ve had a bad day or I’m too tired. If there is any possible way I can be there, I’m going to be there. Case in point- my husband is working late tonight so I already hired a sitter so that I can make it to my workout. It just takes a little planning, but even with my busy schedule, I can do this. And if I can do it, I know you can, too!

    Stay tuned for news from week two. This week, Jason is going to help me with my body fat and other measurements so that I can give you more accurate updates on my progress. I’ll also start talking nutrition soon, too.
    Week One Accomplishments- I got started! I made it to all three F.L.O.s.
    Week Two Goals- Make it to all three F.L.O.s, get accurate body-fat assessment, start reigning in my diet!

      I am really enjoying the theme of your weblog. Do you ever run into any kind of internet browser compatibility problems? A lot of the blog audience have complained concerning my garageband pc blog not working effectively in Internet Explorer though looks very good in Chrome. Do you have any recommendations to help fix that situation?
