This is talk that changed my life.
As I mentioned at the beginning of part 1, it took 5 or 6 times of watching this before I did anything. It was a complete slap in my face to everything I learned up to that point based on my training and education as a personal trainer, strength coach, fitness coach, nutrition coach, keto coach, etc…….
Food is not that important. Exercise is not that important.
To someone who believed nutrition and exercise was the key to health for my entire career and most of my life this was hard to swallow and believe.
Until I did what he recommended in the video.
I have since watched/listened to this presentation at least 35 times. Along with his 2016 and 2018 at Nourish Vermont. While listening and watching I have been reading Dr. Kruse's blog posts and his recommended readings, along with becoming a member of his and listening to his monthly webinars and Q & A's. Everytime I watch this presentation I pick something new up because my level of education has been raised.
Before I started I listened with my level of education, which was why I rejected it at first.
Becoming a Mitochondriac requires dropping your dogma and preconveived beliefs and just doing and examining what he says.
When I did what he says I found out he was telling the truth.
None of the concepts he presents are uniquely his. Dr. Jack Kruse just has an unbelievable ability to take pieces of published data from different disciplines and putting them together for the lay person to understand.
Consider me a ‘dumb jock', so it does take me longer to understand. Which is why I like to put things together in my own words, which apparently a lot of people who follow me like, because Dr. Jack Kruse can talk over a lot of people's heads. Most neurosurgeons can.
