What is Improvement Warrior Yoga?
It simply combines the most powerful aspects of a typical yoga program into one.
It is still in the practice of meditation in motion, which will change your body, spirit and mind. It is physical movement combined with poses and holds that focus equally on balance, strength, coordination, flexibility, and mobility.
There are no prerequisites for strength or flexibility. Everything is modifiable for your level. Anybody can experience the benefits that Improvement Warrior Yoga have to offer.
You, as an Improvement Warrior Yogi will be progressed through linked postures and movements united with your breath, creating an intense awareness between your body, mind, and spirit.
What if I've never done Yoga before?
I am not flexible-- AT ALL! Can I still do this?
What is the Improvement Warrior Yoga Etiquette? What should I bring
- Before class starts please turn off all cell phones and devices
- Please try and arrive at least 5 minutes before class. 10 is preferred.
- If arriving late, please enter as quietly as possible.
- Please bring at least a liter of water. There is a drinking fountain and bottle water to purchase at the studio as well.
- Bring a Yoga mat. Our studio is turfed for our adult fitness and youth sports/fitness training, your knees and hands will not like you if you do not have a mat. We have used mats you can use if you forget, but not very many.
- Leave your shoes by the side of your mat or in the back of the room
- Leave all personal belongings along the side or back of the room.
- Please let your instructor know if you must leave early, and leave as quietly as possible when the time has come
Important things to know about Improvement Warrior Yoga
- Hydrate before, during and after. Water, just like the poses, holds, and twists done in class, is used to detoxify and cleanse the body.
- Don't eat a big meal 2 hours before your yoga practice. Something small and easily digestible 1-2 hours before is fine.
- Wear comfortable exercise clothing or loose clothing so your movement is not restricted.
How hard should I push myself in class?
You never want to overstrain yourself during any physical training.
This applies to both beginning, intermediate and advanced yogis.
IWY is a journey into the soul and peace. If you find yourself struggling at any point there are several places you can go- Those are Downdog, Child's Pose, and Namaste while standing.
I purchased a Metabody Fitness and Yoga pass, can I use that for Improvement Warrior yoga?
.
Yes you may. But only 10 punches of the 30 may be used at any Improvement Warrior Yoga. If you have used a trial in the past you may not use the Metabody trial as well.
Please also note that we DO NOT update the schedule on Wellnessliving.com (metabody's scheduler), so if you show up and we are not in class that is the reason.
I am sure I'm going to LOVE my free Warrior Yoga class, do you offer any discounts?
Yes. All discounts are 10% off and cannot be combined.
We offer discounts for students, buddy, police/fire/ems/military/teachers/nurses, and current clients (either physical or online)
Hi,
As someone who is brand new to yoga (AKA, never tried it before) and wants to learn – I have a few questions!
– What do I need to bring in order to try a class for free?
– What kind of clothing is recommended?
Thanks!
Josh
Josh,
_ just bring water and a mat.
– Whatever you are most comfortable wearing to workout. I usually wear just gym shorts and a t-shirt.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
