About Jason Yun

If you’re wondering who I am and why you should be listening to me on the topic of health/strength/fitness/movement then read on. My name is Jason Yun and I am the owner and strength and movement Coach of Yun Strength and Fitness Systems LLC (DBA Improvement Warrior Fitness & Improvement Warrior Athlete).

I didn’t start truly being healthy until I was 40.5 years old in 2018. ALthough if you asked me up until that point I would of told you I was super healthy.

Both pics taken in 2013. I wasn’t healthy though. Fit/strong doesn’t mean healthy. Weight loss doesn’t mean healthy. A 6-pack doesn’t mean healthy

I am a graduate of The Ohio State University, with an earned Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sports and Leisure Studies with an emphasis in fitness, coaching, and recreation. I’m a Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN) through the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN). I’m a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Also certified as a United States Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach (USAW SPC). Certified Youth Fitness Specialist (YFS) and Youth Speed & Agility Specialist (YSAS), through the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA). Certified Kettlebell Instructor (KBA) through Kettlebell Athletics in 2010. Certified Perinatal Fitness Instructor through Fit Moms in 2012. Certified Functional Movement Screen Assessment (FMS) in 2013. I have trained for over 35 years (since 1990) in various disciplines.

I started the process of becoming a Mitochondriac in September of 2018. The biggest thing you must take away from your journey is you don’t know anything. The things you hold most dear might be the things that are killing you or worsening your disease progression or health.

My life is like a video game…leveling up, adding new equipment, new knowledge, more experience, hitting checkpoints along the way. A little improvement everyday makes our old self not recognizable anymore.

I feel I have lived 3-4 lives so far.

I burned through my younger years with stupid nutrition advice from bodybuilding magazines. That along with a video game addiction led to my first bout of real sickness in my mid-20’s when I suffered severe depression, anxiety and thoughts of suicide weekly.

I was able to pull through and find my purpose of helping people get healthy; I thought the only way was through fitness & nutrition. For a decade I felt better than ever and helped others do the same, but I only later learned I was hurting myself and my clients through this approach and outlook on health.

I came to my 2nd major sickness in life, one that was an utter shock… hormone issues.

Just turning 40 this was a shock and something I didnt tell anyone about.

The quote when the student is ready the teacher will appear.

In my case, reappear. Dr. Jack Kruse first came in my life in 2013, but I had fitness packages to sell people, nutrition programs to sell people and supplements to get people on. His message back then I was not ready for.

2018 he re-appeared in my life and I fully immersed myself into his teachings, reversing my hormone issues and eventually closed my gym in Hilliard, OH to focus on coaching people in circadian health. Only to realize how much I love training people and teaching them the proper ways to train; so I opened up my home garage/basement gym to clients in 2021.

However, it is now Circadian Fitness 😉

Circadian Health is one area some people have not even heard of. Most people are still in the mindset of ‘I’m unhealthy, I need to lose weight…where is the trainer, diet pill and what crazy diet should I follow.‘ This is the path to hormone, mitochondrial and circadian rhythm destruction.

We are all human. And all human’s must know that their light environment is more important the their food or exercise.
